A few days ago, the Chinese Ministry of Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission launched a new energy location planning project in Beijing to ensure simultaneous development of new energy and natural resource protection. This project called "Scenario Analysis of New Energy Development to Balance Ecological Protection Goals" is a topic of mutual concern for both parties. In the future cooperation, the two parties will explore the energy development planning methods suitable for China's national conditions through scientific research and cooperation in their respective areas of expertise.

As the scale of renewable energy development becomes larger and larger, and the layout becomes wider and wider, the development of new energy in China needs to consider the issue of ecological and environmental protection. This is a relatively forward-looking and early warning study. Therefore, we must understand the development of new energy and ecological protection from point to point. Through cooperative research with The Nature Conservancy, we will put forward important policy recommendations for my country's future clean energy development.

China regards renewable energy as a major strategy to achieve the goal of tackling climate change, and it has been mentioned in a very important position in the "13th Five-Year Plan". Some areas where wind power and solar power generation projects are constructed are also important ecological function areas in my country and have important ecological protection values. If the planning and site selection of these new energy constructions are not appropriate, they may have a negative impact on the natural ecological environment and food security.
